Design process and stop animation, May 2018

As part of a two week iPad Learning Experience, Lumos Learning ran a short Design Process workshop with two classes of year 5/6 students. During this time students explored the Design Process model with a guided Book Creator template to develop a sales pitch which identified key features to be added to their school garden program.

To enhance their pitch students used Stop Motion to document how the new features would be developed and the role they would play in the school garden. Peer evaluation was used to select the top 5 projects to be presented to the school board.

Digital technologies in-class mentoring, 2018

To support the implementation and integration of the Western Australian Digital Technologies Curriculum, Lumos Learning provided hands on in-class mentoring to primary schools in the Pilbura.

During these sessions students utilised iPads to brainstorm and research what they knew and wanted to discover about Digital Systems. Students then used QR codes attached to computer components to reveal how each component contributed to the Digital System. Results from the research were compiled in easy to use video editing apps and shared with staff, students and the community.
