This workshop provides participants with the opportunity to enrich their teaching and learning with creative skills within a curriculum based unit of work. We will explore:

We will explore a unit of work on forces and how they make things move.

We explore how different toys work and then and pose the question ‘What makes things move?’

During the unit we will learn key concepts from Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics...

In the Physical Sciences, we could explore way objects move, and the forces that act upon them.

In the Design Technologies, we could design and build a toy that uses air as a push force.

In Engineering, we could explore how technologies use forces to create movement in products.

And in Mathematics we could measure the impact of different levels of force.

We will be utilising the following apps:

•Pages

•iMovie

•Pic Collage EDU

•Popplet

A small number of devices will be available for you to borrow during the session.

Join Sarah Hill from Lumos Learning during this workshop to gain practical strategies and classroom ready examples to assist with the practical implementation of tablet technology in the classroom.
